Evaluation research improves the quality, effectiveness and accountability of many public services (such as social work, education and health care). 

On this module, you’ll build on your understanding of evaluation research. You’ll explore key approaches used to assess interventions, including:

• impact evaluation
• process evaluation
• realist evaluation.

You’ll develop and use recent evaluative research, while reviewing some classic studies. You’ll use various methods to explore issues in practice, theory and methods when developing effective evaluation solutions.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2025/26. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
