Religions, Cultures and Civilisations in International Relations (957M1)

30 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Spring teaching

Today, international society is going through major changes that challenge its traditional liberal and Western focus, leading to:

  • changes in the international system
  • a shift of economic power towards the East and BRICS countries.

There’s a change in ideology and a search for cultural authenticity often found in non-Western societies, shown through the growing influence of religion.

On this module, you’ll study these changes in cultures, religions and civilisations in politics since the end of the Cold War.
