Autumn teaching
On this module, you’ll gain an understanding of the theory and practice of dispute resolution.
Topics include:
- negotiation
- mediation
- arbitration
- mixed processes
- online dispute resolution.
Theory is combined with practical exercises. Referencing dispute resolution and access to justice discussions, you’ll become more creative and effective in your legal problem-solving.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
