Full Module Description
This module aims to give students an overview of child development from birth through preadolescence. The module provides an overview of development in four main areas: biological (e.g. temperament), emotional (e.g. attachment), cognitive (e.g. categorisation) and social (e.g. peer relations). Additionally, this module places key emphasis on developing group working and independent learning skills by utilising a team-based small group teaching approach.

Demonstrate a broad knowledge base of developmental psychology including the major themes and terminology that underpin it
Identify principles and concepts underlying developmental psychology theoretical frameworks and identify their strengths and weaknesses
Source and critically evaluate relevant information from primary and secondary psychological literature
Work effectively with others using interpersonal skills to clarify tasks and solve problems
