Module Outline
This module is designed to follow CBT for Depression providing the knowledge and skills necessary to work with more complex presentations associated with Depression.
By the end of the module, students will have developed knowledge and skills in working with people suffering from more complex depression presentations that include: Chronic and recurrent Depression, Depression and Chronic Fatigue, Depression and Pain Management, Chronic Low Self Easteem, Depression and Medically Unexplained Symptoms. Students will learn evidence based interventions using behavioural and cognitive methods to help reduce factors that contribute to the maintenance of these complex difficulties.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate competence for delivery of cognitive behavioural assessment, formulation and intervention in complex depression presentations that include; low self- esteem, chronic and recurrent depression, depression and chronic fatigue, depression within the context of chronic pain.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of, and critical awareness of the theory and evidence base of; low self- esteem, chronic and recurrent depression, depression and chronic fatigue, depression within the context of chronic pain.
Demonstrate an originality and reflective practice in the application of cognitive behavioural therapy for; low self- esteem, chronic and recurrent depression, depression and chronic fatigue, depression within the context of chronic pain.
