Module Outline

Students will gain knowledge structure in confidentiality & consent; engaging harder to reach CYP/families and populations; developing therapeutic relationships with families/carers alongside CYP. Recognising wider issues. Collaborative risk formulation & management; managing risk to practitioners. Referral & suitability for EMHP assessment; suitability for low-intensity CB interventions; giving evidence-based information as part of collaborative care-planning; managing onward referral. Managing a caseload; care planning & co-ordination; co-production. Managing roadblocks & ruptures with CYP, families/carers and colleagues.

Module learning outcomes

Demonstrate a systematic understanding, critical awareness and the ability to recognise, assess and formulate risk to or from young people.

Demonstrate a systematic understanding, critical awareness and the ability to provide evidence-based information to support collaborative care planning with young people, their families and staff in education settings

Demonstrate an understanding, critical awareness of the barriers some young people experience in accessing mental health support, and how these might be overcome

Demonstrate a systematic understanding, critical awareness and the ability to make onward referral of wider mental health and learning issues
