Module Outline

In this module you will learn the foundations of learning to work with people with serious mental health difficulties. It will comprise the basics of diagnosis of mental health difficulties, cultural competence, recovery models, engagement with people with mental health difficulties and assessment of presenting mental health difficulties.

Module learning outcomes

Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and competence in engagement and assessment of people with serious mental health problems.

Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and competence in risk assessment and risk management with people with serious mental health problems.

Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical awareness of diagnosis in clinical practice.

Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and competence in Cultural competence, anti-discriminatory practice and reasonable adjustments.
