Students will gain knowledge and skills on strategies and techniques which will prepare them to undertake CBT informed assessments for presenting difficulties and risk screening with children and young people.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and ability to assess, formulate, define problems and set goals with a young person.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and ability to engage and build therapeutic alliances with children and young people.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and ability to recognise and accurately assess the risk posed by the child or young person to themselves or others.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of and ability to accurately record individual interviews, group interventions and questionnaire assessments using paper and electronic record keeping.
