Students will gain knowledge in developmental models and relevant legislation policy and frameworks associated with working with CYP mental healthcare. Students will also be introduced to concepts in the therapeutic relationship and group processes relevant to CYP.

Students will gain knowledge in developmental models and relevant legislation policy and frameworks associated with working with CYP mental healthcare. Students will also be introduced to concepts in the therapeutic relationship and group processes relevant to CYP.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical awareness of concepts of mental health and mental illness for CYP.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical awareness of diagnostic category systems in mental health.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical awareness of a range of social, medical and psychological explanatory models.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of relevant mental health policy and health and social care legislation.
