Full Module Description
You learn about how to develop a shared understanding of a young person’s difficulties based on cognitive or behavioural models. You'll also learn interventions for health promotion (healthy eating and sleeping for healthy mood), graded exposure, cognitive restructuring and evidence-based group CBT protocols.
Sessions will include theoretical teaching, giving you an overview of the topic area. Your knowledge and skills will be grounded and consolidated through individual and small group exercises, modelling and rehearsing using case examples in clinical skills-based sessions.

Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge and competence in gathering appropriate information in a timely manner to arrive at a theoretically underpinned, succinct and collaborative definition of the child or young person’s main mental health difficulty and the impact these have on their daily living.
Demonstrate competent delivery of a short course of graded exposure and/or cognitive restructuring.
Demonstrate competent delivery of a short course of cognitive restructuring.Demonstrate knowledge and competence when working with groups.
