Module Outline
By the end of the module students will have gained knowledge in developmental models, psychopathology in CYP, and relevent legislation, polices and frameworks assocaited with working with CYP in mental health care. Students will also be introduced to concepts in the therapeutic relationship and group processesd as relevent to CYP. 
Sessions will include thoeretical teaching providing students with an overview of the topic area.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of concepts of mental health and mental illness for children and young people.
Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of diagnostic category systems in mental health.
Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of a range of social, medical and psychological explanatory models.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant mental health policy and health and social care legislation.
