Full Module Description

This module covers the foundations of research methods and statistical testing to address psychological research questions. Taught sessions cover statistical principles in depth, accompanied by dynamic resources, such as online tutorials. On this module, students will build essential data management and analysis skills using statistical computer software and coding, such as cleaning, inspecting, and visualising data and performing a variety of statistical tests. Assessments focus on performing data analysis using statistical software and interpreting results in order to answer set research questions. This module builds on knowledge gained in the core psychology module C8511: Psychology as a Science.
