Module Outline
This course is designed to follow the first Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Depression module providing the knowledge and skills necessary to work with more complex presentations associated with depression.
By the end of the module, students will have developed knowledge and skills in using cognitive therapy and behavioural activation with people suffering from, depression within the context of  low  self esteem,  chronic and recurrent depression, depression and suicide, depression and chronic fatigue, depression within the context of chronic pain.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate competence for the delivery of assessment and intervention in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for chronic or severe depression using behavioural activation, cognitive therapy and adapted cognitive models.
Demonstrate a systematic understanding of, and critical awareness of the theory and evidence base of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for chronic or severe depression using behavioural activation, cognitive therapy and adapted cognitive models.
Demonstrate an originality and reflective practice in the application of psychological knowledge to the treatment and understanding of mental health problems using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for chronic or severe depression using behavioural activation cognitive therapy and adapted cognitive models.
