Module Outline

Students will gain knowledge in confidentiality & consent; engaging harder to reach CYP/families and populations; developing therapeutic relationships with families/carers alongside CYP. Recognising wider issues. Collaborative risk formulation & management; managing risk to practitioners. Referral & suitability for low-intensity CB interventions; giving evidence-based information as part of collaborative care-planning; managing onward referral. Managing a caseload; care planning, co-ordination and co-production. Managing roadblocks & ruptures with CYP, families/carers and colleagues.

Full Module Description

Module learning outcomes

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding, critical awareness and the ability to recognise, assess and formulate risk to or from young people.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding, critical awareness and the ability to provide evidence-based information to support collaborative care planning with young people, their families and staff in community settings.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding, critical awareness of the barriers some young people experience in accessing mental health support, and how these might be overcome.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding, critical awareness and the ability to make onward referral of wider mental health and learning issues.
