Module learning outcomes
Systematic understanding of IoT concepts, elements, applications and ecosystems with a focus on energy-efficient protocol designs and operations for IoT devices, and in-depth analysis of its architecture and standards as well as connectivity protocols.
Sustainably design and critically evaluate the performance of hardware and software modules in the entire IoT design lifecycle: connectivity between embedded IoT nodes, including access protocols for gateway, cloud and end-user client access.
Capacity building on social impact by exploring the business and sustainability opportunities of embedded IoT applications as well as assessing the broader social societal implications such as data privacy and security, and systematically identify areas for improvement and informs sustainable design and manufacturing decisions.
Teamwork practice to reflect both individual and collaborative contributions into a complex IoT use case by exercising both green IoT technologies and business skills.
